World Cup final at Oasis

For those of you who haven’t switched your telly on, opened a newspaper or maybe wondered why there were St George’s flags everywhere then allow me to inform you that there has been the world’s greatest sporting competition been going on for the past four weeks – The World Cup.

And as we reach the end of this most brilliant of football festivals it inevitably leads to the glorious World Cup final. Which is this Sunday 11th July and kicks off at 7.30pm. To celebrate this once-every-four-years masterpiece of the beautiful game (and to have a bit of a get together and all hang out) we will be showing it at Oasis instead of our evening meeting. And did I mention it will be on a big screen? then let me inform you further that this will not be on some mediocre box telly but rather on the two screens we use on Sundays so no view should be impeded.

So:
Who
-
Everyone is welcome!
What
-
Watching the beautiful game at it’s absolute best – The World Cup final.
Where
-
The Moseley room at Edgbaston Cricket Ground.
When
-
From 6.30pm Sunday 11th july

Why
-
Because it will be a great chance to all hang out, watch the highlight of the sporting calendar and hopefully see a few goals.

So get your vuvuzelas out and your orange Oasis t-shirt on and (maybe?) cheer the Dutch to victory?

Everything Changes wk 13: Daniel 6 by Adrian

The final week to our Everything Changes series and our final week at the MAC.

Adrian looks at Daniel in the lions’ den and how we can live the Everything Changes equation (Faith in Jesus = Everything Changes for Us = We Can Change Everything) everyday and not just view it as another church series.

Drug Awareness Training – Sunday 4th July

Drug awareness training is taking place on Sunday 4th July and being organised by Catherine Pedley. This training is for everyone and does not require any prior knowledge/experience and not just for people who have worked or volunteered at Bridge House or anything other than wanting to find out a bit more.

Delegates will receive a resource pack with information covered in the training. This training is a good opportunity to gain awareness of a subject that impacts our friends, family, community and city.

Drug Awareness Training: Sunday 4th July

1 – 4pm Bridge House, 2 Oxford Road, Moseley, B13 9EH.

A light lunch will be provided from 1 with training starting at 1.45

The aim of the training is to give a broad understanding of drugs whilst focusing on a few.

If you are able to make it then please RSVP Catherine Pedley (who is organising the training) at catherine@thebridge.uk.net

Hope you can make it.

Oasis Men’s BBQ – Saturday 19th June

Sorry ladies – this is just for men/lads/boys this time. Richard Stunt has organised a men’s BBQ this Saturday 19th June and has written whats below for all the info:

“Please excuse the impersonal nature of this email. I am writing to remind/tell you about the upcoming men’s (and lads) BBQ on Saturday the 19th June.

Once again it will be hosted in Dorridge from 3.30pm until everyone goes home! Last years event was great with football and volley Ball in the garden, and most importantly lots of great food.

This year we are asking you to bring meat and any alcoholic drink you may want to consume. We will provide bread rolls, salads, puddings and non-alcoholic drinks etc. If you are planning to come please can you let me know by Thursday 17th June. Last minute attendees are also welcome.

During the afternoon there will be an opportunity to hear more about Richard (and Ali) Stunt’s exciting plans for Russia, and how you can get involved as part of their support team.

Please can you forward this email on to others in the church network who might want to come, and if you are a home group leader can you tell people in your group.

The venue is in Dorridge but as this is a public forum can you please message me for the details if you want to come and I will gladly pass them along.

It will be an afternoon/early evening event meaning that if you have an urgent appointment with a World Cup match (i.e. Australia v Ghana or Cameroon v Denmark) there could be a conflict of interests, on the other hand there is a large HD TV to watch on if you’re desperate!

I am sorry if you, as a lady, have received this email and feel excluded. This is not my aim – please could you help the publicity process and forward it on to any friends you have who might want to come. Thanks”

Would be great if you could make it as the more the merrier and open to bring your mates along to. If you would like to come could you please let Richard know at richard.stunt@talktalk.net
